The Heritage That Shaped MyLahore

From Mills to Menus
The story of MyLahore is intertwined with the journey of South Asian migration to the UK. In the decades after the Second World War, many came from Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh to work in Britain’s textile mills, factories, and health service. They brought not only their skills but their culture, their food, and a determination to build a better future.
In Yorkshire, those hard-working families laid down roots. Food became a bridge a way to keep traditions alive while embracing a new home. Dishes were adapted to local ingredients, blending British favourites with South Asian spice.

At MyLahore, we carry that heritage proudly. Our interiors nod to the past, with bobbin lights recalling the mills and colourful milk crates evoking childhood street games. Our recipes honour the generations before us, while adding our own twist for today’s tastes.
Every plate we serve tells a story of resilience, adaptation, and community. It’s a reminder that food isn’t just fuel it’s history, memory, and the promise of something new.
